NFAB Meets with New Leadership of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force

Nassau, The Bahamas – On June 24th 2025 the Executive Board of the National Firearms Association Bahamas (NFAB), including its Law Enforcement division, visited the new leadership of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. The gathering aimed to offer congratulations on their recent appointments and discuss collaboration to improve national security and community welfare.
NFAB extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Commodore Floyd P. Moxey LLB, CLE, ESQ and Deputy Commander & Force Inspectorate officer Captain Natasha Miller. Recognizing their dedication, expertise, and vision for the nation's defense, NFAB emphasized the importance of strong leadership during these pivotal times. This meeting served to reaffirm shared values and a collective commitment to the safety and well-being of the Bahamian people.
Together, NFAB and RBDF leaders explored key areas for collaboration:
Strengthening community outreach initiatives to promote responsible firearm ownership, safety, and awareness.
Joint initiatives to enhance public safety, emergency preparedness, and national resilience.
Collaborative training and workshops facilitate the exchange of expertise across military, law enforcement, private security, and civilian sectors.
Instructor development and officer training programs to advance national security capabilities.
In addition to discussing collaboration on national security matters, NFAB also shared with the RBDF leadership its broad portfolio of services that extend beyond law enforcement to support the private sector and wider community. These services reflect NFAB’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety, responsibility, and preparedness across all sectors of Bahamian society:
Firearms Safety & Responsible Ownership Courses — Customized programs designed for licensed citizens, private security professionals, and business owners to promote safe handling, storage, and use of firearms.
Defensive Tactics & Use-of-Force Training — Practical instruction aimed at enhancing the capabilities of security teams and corporate protection personnel, with a focus on lawful and appropriate application of force.
Instructor Certification Programs — Empowering qualified individuals to become certified trainers in firearms safety, defensive tactics, and related security disciplines, helping to build local expertise and capacity.
SWAG (Strong Women Alert & Guarded) Workshops — Specialized training equipping women with essential knowledge and practical skills to avoid violent encounters, strengthen situational awareness, and enhance personal safety and resilience.
AVERT (Active Violence Emergency Response Training) — Providing businesses, organizations, and individuals with the tools and strategies to effectively recognize, respond to, and mitigate violent incidents and emergencies.
Refuse To Be A Victim® Program — Delivering proven crime prevention and personal safety strategies that help participants reduce the risk of becoming victims of crime in both personal and professional settings.
Corporate Security Risk Assessments & Policy Development Support — Assisting private sector partners in evaluating vulnerabilities, strengthening workplace safety, and enhancing emergency preparedness through tailored risk assessments and policy advisory services.
NFAB also highlighted its partnerships with leading local experts, including PARATUS Tactical, Semper-Fi Protection Bahamas, and Preventative Measures, which enable the delivery of integrated and high-quality training solutions to meet the diverse needs of national and private stakeholders.
Both NFAB and RBDF expressed enthusiasm for building on this positive engagement to promote national safety, security, and prosperity. NFAB remains committed to collaborating with national security agencies, private sector organizations, and community groups to promote peace, preparedness, and responsible citizenship throughout the Bahamas.
